How does changing an employee's manager affect a review?

Example:

A review exists for employee Jessica and her primary manager Aiden. The review has the following details:

  • Review start date: 01/01/2016
  • Review end date: 30/06/2016
  • Lock out date: 31/07/2016

Jessica moves departments and so her primary manager changes to Henry. 

 

Please note the following only applies for when an employee's manager is changed through the employee's employee file.

 

Changing an employee's manager between the start and end date of a review period

If Jessica's primary manager change occurs between 01/01/2016 - 30/06/2016, then Employment Hero will clear Aiden's responses and set Henry as the manager for the review.

 

Note: The following pop-up will appear to warn users of this change and ask for confirmation before changes to the employee's primary manager is made. 

 

 

Changing an employee's manager between the end date and lock out date of a review period

If Jessica's primary manager change occurs between 30/06/2016 - 31/07/2016, then Employment Hero will keep Aiden's responses and Aiden will remain as the manager for the review. 

 

Changing employee's manager after the lock out date of a review period

If Jessica's primary manager change occurs after 31/07/2016, then Employment Hero will keep Aiden's responses and Aiden will remain as the manager for the review. 

 

Creating a new review after changing managers

After Jessica's primary manager has been changed to Henry, any new review period created that includes Jessica will have Henry as the manager. However, any old review period that had Aiden as Jessica's manager will remain unchanged. 

 

Additional note:

Extending the lock out date of a review period will not allow you to change the manager of a review. To be able to change the manager of a review, ensure the end date of the review period is the current date or a future date before making the change to an employee's primary manager.
