Induction content

Overview

An employee's first impression of your organisation is important in fostering the right expectations and culture. By providing your employee with induction content, allows them to settle in to their new role and ensuring you have provided them with the right information to get started. 

Employment Hero allows you to digitise your induction material, allowing users to access their content as soon as they join the HR platform. This also allows you to see their progress, so you can make sure they are up to speed and have understood the content.

The Induction feature allows you to upload induction material as either a YouTube video, PDF, Doc and/or Docx file. You can also use this feature to delete any induction material you have previously uploaded.

Getting started

Adding induction content: YouTube video
  1. Click the Files menu.
  2. Click the Induction submenu.
  3. Click the Add Content button.

  4. Select the Video Link option.

    Important

    The HR platform allows you to upload the three available YouTube video types. YouTube bases these three video types on your video security settings. The three types are:

    • Public videos.
    • Private videos.
    • Unlisted videos.
  5. Complete the following fields:
    • Name.
    • Required
    • Content link.
  6. Click the Save button.

Adding induction content: PDF, doc or docx
  1. Click the Files menu.
  2. Click the Induction submenu.
  3. Click the Add Content button.

  4. Select the File Upload option.
  5. Complete the following fields:
    • Name.
    • Required.
  6. Click the Choose File button and select the required content.

Maintain

Sharing induction content: Everyone
  1. Click the Files menu.
  2. Click the Induction submenu.
  3. Click the Actions button.
  4. Click the Shared To button.

  5. Click Yes on the Share to Everyone button.
  6. Click the Share Document button.

Sharing induction content: Selected users
  1. Click the Files menu.
  2. Click the Induction submenu.
  3. Click the Actions button.
  4. Click the Shared To button.

  5. Click No on the Share to Everyone button.
  6. Select from any of the following sharing fields:
    • Team.
    • Location.
    • Employing entity.
    • Employee.
  7. Click the Share Document button.

Editing induction content
  1. Click the Files menu.
  2. Click the Induction submenu.
  3. Click the Actions button.
  4. Click the Edit button.

  5. Update the relevant information and then click the Save button.

Deleting induction content
  1. Click the Files menu.
  2. Click the Induction submenu.
  3. Click the Actions button.
  4. Click the Delete button.
