Tasks

Overview

A task list is a handy way for you to manage the various activities that you to need undertaken in your role. A to do list allows you to break up your required duties into smaller, more actionable items. 

This feature allows you to create your own to do list or for you to assign tasks to your employees that they need to complete. This feature also allows you to see what tasks your employees have completed and when.

Getting started

Creating a task
  1. Click the Tasks menu.
  2. Click the Add New Task button.

  3. Complete the following fields:
    • Task description.
    • Assign date.
    • Due date.
    • Assigned to.

    Important

    If there are multiple users assigned a task, then Employment Hero provides each user with a unique record of this task.

    Important

    Managers and employees can only assign tasks to members in their team.

  4. Click the Create button.

Filtering tasks

Important

Your user role will determine what tasks the platform displays when you turn off the Only Show Tasks Assigned to Me toggle switch. For further details on what each access level will see, refer to this article section.

  1. Click the Tasks menu.
  2. Click either the Filter and/or the Only Show Tasks Assigned to Me button.

Editing a task
  1. Click the Tasks menu.
  2. Click the Action button.
  3. Click the Edit button.

  4. Make the required changes and click the Update button.

    Important

    Updating a task triggers an email to the assigned users.

Viewing a task
  1. Click the Tasks menu.
  2. Click the Action button.
  3. Click the View button.

  4. If you have completed the task, click the Complete button.

Reassigning a task
  1. Click the Tasks menu.
  2. Click the Action button.
  3. Click the Reassign button.

  4. Type in the name of the new employee that is being assigned the task.
  5. Click the Assign button.

Deleting a task
  1. Click the Tasks menu.
  2. Click the Action button.
  3. Click the Delete button.

  4. Click the Delete button.

    Helpful Hint

    Selecting Delete Related Tasks will delete all assigned instances of this task.

Further information

User role visibility
User role Visibility
Owner/Admin Can view all tasks within the organisation.
Manager Can view tasks for reporting employees and themselves.
Employee Can only view their own tasks.
