Locations and public holidays: Public holidays

Overview

When your employees submit leave through the HR platform, you will need to ensure you factor in the relevant public holiday into their leave requests. The HR platform automates this process for you by automatically applying the relevant public holidays to an employee's leave request, reducing your HR administration and also ensuring a public holiday does not deduct from an employees' leave balance.

You can use this the Public Holidays feature to add multiple state public holiday calendars to your HR platform or use the customisation option to create your own from scratch. You can also use this feature to edit any information if it changes and delete a record that is no longer required.

To use this feature, you must first set up your locations. To read details on how to set up a location within the HR platform, please refer to the following article.

HR Best Practice

Setting up locations will allow you to link your employees to a public holiday calendar. This allows each employee to submit accurate leave requests based around only the public holidays that affect them.
