HR compliance reporting: Certifications

Overview

Certifications act as a proof of attainment, and allow you to see what training, licences, qualifications and checks your employee has received. Certifications can also form a requirement for certain roles, such as a security guard needing a security license or a child care worker needing a certificate 4 in childcare.

The Certifications Reporting feature allows you to see how your employees are progressing with their assigned certifications, understand what is overdue and when their manager approved their submission. You can also use this feature to download a CSV file of the data, enabling you to load the report into a CSV supported program like Microsoft Excel.

Author recommended

So you have now run a certification report and you are now wondering what next can I do. There are two recommendations I would make on this front and they are:

  • HR Platform: Certification Settings The Certification Settings feature allows you to create a list of certifications you need to track, specify whether an employee needs to upload supporting documentation, and also choose whether to apply an expiry date.
  • Hero Academy Workshop Guide: Managing your Employee Certifications This article covers the material shown in our video walkthrough of the Certifications feature. You can use this handout and the linked training video to learn more about how you can utilise certifications within your organisation.
