Assigning the reporting lines is an important step before you to go live, so that you can link employees to their managers for leave approvals and more:
1. Check the Organisation Chart from the menu on the left: Anyone that has a + next to their name is the “approver” (of leave/ timesheets etc), and you can click on the +, which will then appear as - and display the individuals reporting to them below.
2. If this looks like one big list without + symbols next to names, this means you need to assign their approval manager.
3. To assign the approval manager for individual employees, click on the grey Details button next to that employee on the Organisation Chart to go to their Employee File > Select the Employment Details tab > half way down, click on the primary manager drop down > select their primary manager > save.
4. To update this in bulk you can extract and re-upload the CSV with employee details in it by clicking Personnel > Import > Click on the CSV hyperlink to download the latest employee details > Scroll to the primary manager column > enter the managers system login email against each employee > Import and check organisation chart to see it it imported correctly.
TIP: Be careful not to update any other info in this sheet as it may override the details you currently have in the platform. To be safe you can delete all of the columns you aren’t using besides first name, last name, email and primary manager email.
